The History of Aryline
Originally we played with breeding warmbloods
but with 4 boys and 3 under 6 it just seemed obvious to make the
transition to ponies. The bigger horses had the prefix of Wind Dancer
Park, which was proving, a bit of a mouthful for the ponies and
so Aryline was decided on.
Why the Australian Pony is a question that I have
been answer many times and it's a very easy one to answer, way back
in 1986 we were lucky enough to purchase a beautiful little 18mth
old chestnut filly for Travis, who was also only 18mths old, for
the princely sum of $75.00. Milky Way as she was called was an unregistered
Australian Pony by Mitobe Bismarck out of Neva-Tia Lady Lucille
and the best little pony ever to grace our paddock. She taught many
a child to ride, was always called on for pony rides and visits
to day care centres and when our next little boy Rhys was born she
was often an unofficial babysitter as he was always to be found
trying to crawl up her side or just sitting under her tummy. She
was a much-loved family member and everyone was saddened by her
loss at the age of 10yrs in 1996. So the search was on not to replace
her, as that would be impossible, but to find a pony that could
fill the void. As luck would have it late in 1997 I received a call
from a friend Sherree Mostert who had picked up a pony from Mundijong
Markets, Neva-Tia Sophia, would I like her as she wasn't quite what
she was looking for and sight unseen we had our next Australian
Pony. Sophia took Kaden (4yrs) to Pony Club for a year and then
in 1999 we decided to show her in hand and what a year she had.
She took out Champion Mare at most shows she attended and the highlight
was seeing her sashed Supreme Australian Pony at the Autumn Horse
Show. Sophia proved that the Australian pony really is the perfect
child's pony and our stud grew from there. The rest as they say
is history.
